King On the Run" - BlckNoise

This reference heavy music video drew heavily from some of the director’s, Patrick Long, and I’s favorite pieces. From “Peter Pan”, “400 Blows”, and “Fury Road”, to paintings, tribal patterns, and dance. Matched with the amazing music from the guys in BLCKNOISE (Who appear on screen as “The Watchers”).
With shared visual reference, incredible locations, a killer track, and a powerful performance from our lead, Brandon Alexander, this video came together in a really special way.

Lauren Ruth Ward - Wise Gal

Working, once again, with the Directing Duo of Dri Sommer and Nicol Biesek, Lauren wanted our help in creating a patriarchy smashing, high energy, feminist minded statement piece to accompany her new song.
With a poppy, distinct color pallet, and contrasting sets, it was a blast bringing a period look to this video, only to tear it all down, and end with a contemporary, high energy climax.

pj - One missed call (Live at Sweet Laurel)

Gladly collaborating with a fellow NC native, PJ, Director Aidan Crowley and I wanted to create a cozy, hip, urban vibe for this live performance. The LA based coffee shop and bakery Sweet Laurel, proved to be the perfect spot.
This one proved to be a delight, as PJ is a wonderful performer.
MKTO - Shoulda Known Better

On this one, directors Dri Sommer and Nicol Biesek, and I tried our hands at creating a game show, to go along with the comeback hit for MKTO. With Lively zooms, lighting cues, and a goofy practical set, this one was a blast to shoot.
2 Wrongs

In this short, Director Andy Cruz and I wanted to tell a story of a family of color, dealing with struggles of our society. Touching on issues of housing, policing, and living with a criminal record, Andy wanted to focus on a man who learns that violence isn’t always the answer, through the love of his daughter.
We worked to capture an image that recalled the slick action movies of the 80s and 90s that inspired us.

ddg - yOUNG rICH AND bLACK

In another collaboration with Director West Webb, we wanted to make a dazzling, colorful, vintage look for DDG’s song.
Ancient vintage zoom lenses, heavy filtration, and a beautiful set made capturing the party a breeze!
Skoles - “Am I going too crazy?”

In this wild ride, Director Brume and I worked to capture a sense of impending, unavoidable, decay in Skoles' video debut.
Shooting on Super 16mm, in the LA River, covered in blood, made it a breeze to capture a dense, saturated, tactile image to tell our little story.
Kris wu - hold me down (Second unit)

Working with main unit Director/Cinematographer West Webb, to create a quintessential California look for international audiences, we set out to showcase diversity and equality.
Miranda Glory - “Hypochondriac”

In another collaboration with Dri Sommer, we wanted to capture the emotions, and anxiety described in Miranda’s song.
Working to separate the video into chunks, we created 3 different colored “Rooms” in her dream party, in which she chases a mysterious stranger. However, the deeper she descends into this party, the more anxiety she experiences.

Alan parsons - as lights fall

Working, once again, with Director Patrick Read Johnson, we worked to create a visual piece to accompany Alan Parsons’ new swan song, “As Lights Fall”.
With the story of an aging pirate, telling his tale, we pulled out all of the old school stops for this one. Calling back to our work on 5-25-77, of which Alan is a big fan, and collaborator, we used Matte Paintings, Miniatures, and forced perspective to create a fantasy world with Beatles Pirates, Vinyl treasures, and even space faring ships.
Shot on location in Nassau, Haiti, and Santa Barbara!
“Lost and Found” - Pilot

A group of small children go missing in the woods of their hometown. Only to emerge 10 years later, a tribe, with their minds set on bringing down the status quo. However, the uncompromising love of the one friend they left behind, leads them to question their plans for anarchy.
Seasoned Actor, and first time Director Andrew Hollinger and I worked to make a comedy, with a poignant message about today’s society, and the importance of finding your tribe within it.

Mike Posner - Song About you (Live)

Mike Posner approached Director, and frequent collaborator, Dri Sommer to shoot a live performance version of one of his new songs “Song About You”.
To compliment his new, down to earth, aesthetic, I went for a nostalgic Tungsten look, with big stage lights blasting in the frame. All this to compliment Mike’s new wild hair!

ABC "Talk it out" Campaign
This campaign, sponsored by A.B.C liquor stores in North Carolina, aimed to help remove some of the fear about talking to your kids about drinking.
Using high production value, fun metaphors, and diverse scenarios director Patrick Read Johnson and I wanted to create a campaign that was as attractive, as it was approachable.

5-25-77 (Special Effects Unit)

In the film, Director Pat Johnson tells the semi-autobiographical tale of an alienated, hopeful-filmmaker’s epic story. Growing up in rural Illinois, falling in love, and becoming the first fan of the movie that changed everything.
Using old school techniques that the film highlights, we used miniatures, practical effects, and compositing to bring some classic movie magic to this little biopic!
